In this guide, you’ll learn how to install holiday.com’s eSIM on an iPhone or iPad.
There are three ways to install the eSIM:
Automatic
Manual
We’ll walk you through all methods in this guide.
Before you start, make sure you have the following:
- A data plan purchased from holiday.com or the holiday.com app.
- A stable internet connection.
- An iPhone or iPad.
NOTE: Once installed, your eSIM cannot be moved to a different device or reinstalled if removed/deleted.

Automatic installation
On the holiday.com app or site, navigate to My Plans, then select How to install on the eSIM you want. Ensure both iOS and Automatic are selected.
If you’re using the holiday.com app on your iOS device, tap Activate eSIM.
You may also select Copy Installation Link and send it to the iOS device you want to install the eSIM on, then tap the link to begin the installation.
- Tap Allow when the "Activate New eSIM" popup displays.
- Tap "Continue" to activate the eSIM. This may take a few minutes. Tap Done when it appears.
- On the Data Plan Labels screen, tap Secondary, then enter your preferred label (e.g. holiday.com eSIM) to name your new eSIM. Tap Continue.
- On the Default Line screen, select your Primary line. This ensures you’ll receive calls and texts through your regular SIM. Tap Continue.
- If you see the iMessage & FaceTime screen, select your Primary line, then tap Continue.
- On the Cellular Data screen, if you wish to use your holiday.com eSIM for data immediately, select the holiday.com eSIM. To avoid extra roaming charges, keep Allow Cellular Data Switching toggled OFF. Tap Continue.
- Now, go to Settings > Cellular or Mobile Service. Under SIMs, tap your holiday.com eSIM and ensure Turn On This Line is toggled ON.
- On the same screen, tap Cellular Data Network. Tap the APN field, then enter globaldata and save the change.
- Toggle Data Roaming ON. Your device should automatically connect to a supported network upon arriving at your destination!
Manual installation
On the holiday.com app or site, navigate to My Plans, then select How to install on the eSIM you want. Ensure both iOS and Manual are selected. You should then see your SM-DP-Address and activation code.
- Open Settings > Cellular or Mobile Service > Add eSIM > Use QR Code > Enter Details Manually.
- Enter your provided SM-DP+ Address and Activation Code in the respective fields, along with your Confirmation Code (if you received one). Tap Next.
- Tap Continue twice to initiate the installation. Tap Done.
- On the Data Plan Labels screen, tap Secondary, then enter your preferred label (e.g. holiday.com eSIM) to name your new eSIM. Tap Continue.
- On the Default Line screen, select your Primary line. This ensures you’ll receive calls and texts through your regular SIM. Tap Continue. If you see the iMessage & FaceTime screen, select your Primary line, then tap Continue.
- On the Cellular Data screen, if you wish to use your holiday.com eSIM for data immediately, select the holiday.com eSIM. To avoid extra roaming charges, keep Allow Cellular Data Switching toggled OFF. Tap Continue.
- Now, go to Settings > Cellular or Mobile Service. Under SIMs, tap your holiday.com eSIM and ensure Turn On This Line is toggled ON.
